5 Reasons Why Nintendo Hates Wii Homebrew – #1

Wii Homebrew Review counts down our top five reasons
why Nintendo hates Homebrew:

#1: They Don’t Understand It.

People have a tendency to hate things that they don’t understand. Ok, I know that Nintendo is obviously capable of getting their heads around the inner workings of the homebrew itself, they ‘know’ how the programming functions. That’s not my point at all. My point is that they certainly don’t seem to be able to understand the reasons why homebrew exists.

Many people have come to realize over the last couple of years that Nintendo seems to have slipped into some altered state of reality where they assume that they are the only ones who know exactly what the gaming public wants from a console. They may use the incredible Wii sales numbers to justify this attitude but they will need to humble themselves and realize that they are going to need to start giving customers the kinds of things they have been asking for (begging for) or risk a massive nosedive.

People love the Wii, no doubt about it. But they want Nintendo to start showing some love to their new found fan base. Where’s the storage solution to make up for the Wii’s embarrassingly tiny internal memory that we have been begging for? Where is the DVD playback? Where is the love Nintendo? You got our money so how about a little bit of respect in return?

Homebrew is proof that Nintendo does not have as firm of a grip on what gamers want as they may think and it seems obvious that Nintendo has yet to understand this since nothing is being done to appease the customer’s needs.
