Installing the HomeBrew Channel on a Nintendo Wii with System Menu 3.0 – 4.1 (old)

(This is all freeware and shall not be sold!) I did not make this tutorial, BannerBomb, or the HackMii installer and others. (I just made this video.) Nintendo Wii and Nintendo are registered trademarks of Nintendo of America. Do not ask or provide ROMs, WADs, ISOs, IOSs, etc. Google is your friend. Please don’t flame, or fight with others. I will block you and your comment will be removed. (Keep this ‘kid’ friendly as the Wii is.) This will work on ANY Wii at all. (if it has 3.0 – 4.1 System Menu) You’ll need: A SD Card Reader A SD Card (4.0+ can support SDHC as 3.X can’t) A Wii with System Menu 3.0 – 4.1 and a WiiMote Needed files on the SD Card. (The correct version of Bannerbomb (may take a few tries) for you in the correct place of the SD Card, the HackMii installer’s .dol file on the root of the SD Card.) Written tutorial: 1)Download a BannerBomb version (from BannerBomb’s website)(try the recommened version first) and the HackMii Installer (BootMii.org’s website) and unzip them. 1a)Put the .elf file from the HackMii Installer package onto the root of the SD Card. (SD:\boot.elf) 1b)If another “PRIVATE” folder exists, rename for later use, and put BannerBomb’s “PRIVATE” folder onto the root of the SD Card. (SD:\PRIVATE\WII\TITLE\AKTN\content.bin\) 2)Turn on your Wii and click Wii …

Where do I get those things for the homebrew channel on my SD card?

A friend managed to get homebrew on my 4.0 wii using a new hacker method (bannerbomb). It works, the homebrew is there, BUT, thats all thats there….. I dont have what he had on the SD card and im wondering where I can get it. When I go to homebrew, nothings there. ITs just a blank screen with bubbles :P

Im mostly interested in using emulators.

i want the wii homebrew channel but i dont want to download anything on to my computer…so i need to know how to get the wii homebrew channel with just a wii, and SDcard…and pretty much everything but a computer…i also want to know everything that it can do…i heard it can play computer burnt games and dvd…thank you to whoever can solve my super hard problem haha

will something bad happen if i install the homebrew channel on my wii?

i really dont want to screw up my wii, but i really want to be able to have dvd playback and such. also, if something bad does happen, like nintendo needing to fix my wii but they get mad because i have the homebrew channel and refuse to do it, would it fix that problem if i uninstalled it? any other problems you experienced would be nice too.

Ok ive heard about half+half that the hombrew does or doesnt brick your wii. thats not what i want to know.

What does it do exactly? I know it allows you to watch dvd’s ect. (and the new playstation thing i heard about) So do you put data on the channel and use it or does it allow me to simply insert a disk foriegn to the wii and help it work?

I am brand new to this so plz add any info on the homebrew channel you know.

Wii Homebrew Channel Problem?

Ok I have successfully installed the Homebrew Channel on my Wii. I want to play dvd’s and dvd backups of my games. So, I also installed Dvdx that came with the BootMii installer package. It told me, it successfully installed. But, when I try to play it gives me errors like “Make sure DVDx is installed and you correctly burned the disc”. I don’t know which one is the problem, DVDx or the burned disc. Is there any way to check, or can someone tell me a definitive way to get dvdx to work on a wii system menu 4.1u?
