A friend managed to get homebrew on my 4.0 wii using a new hacker method (bannerbomb). It works, the homebrew is there, BUT, thats all thats there….. I dont have what he had on the SD card and im wondering where I can get it. When I go to homebrew, nothings there. ITs just a blank screen with bubbles

i want the wii homebrew channel but i dont want to download anything on to my computer…so i need to know how to get the wii homebrew channel with just a wii, and SDcard…and pretty much everything but a computer…i also want to know everything that it can do…i heard it can play computer burnt games and dvd…thank you to whoever can solve my super hard problem haha

i really dont want to screw up my wii, but i really want to be able to have dvd playback and such. also, if something bad does happen, like nintendo needing to fix my wii but they get mad because i have the homebrew channel and refuse to do it, would it fix that problem if i uninstalled it? any other problems you experienced would be nice too.

Ok ive heard about half+half that the hombrew does or doesnt brick your wii. thats not what i want to know.
What does it do exactly? I know it allows you to watch dvd’s ect. (and the new playstation thing i heard about) So do you put data on the channel and use it or does it allow me to simply insert a disk foriegn to the wii and help it work?
I am brand new to this so plz add any info on the homebrew channel you know.
Ok I have successfully installed the Homebrew Channel on my Wii. I want to play dvd’s and dvd backups of my games. So, I also installed Dvdx that came with the BootMii installer package. It told me, it successfully installed. But, when I try to play it gives me errors like “Make sure DVDx is installed and you correctly burned the disc”. I don’t know which one is the problem, DVDx or the burned disc. Is there any way to check, or can someone tell me a definitive way to get dvdx to work on a wii system menu 4.1u?

I have installed the Wii Homebrew Channel on my Firmware 4.0 Wii. I have bootMii installed as a boot2. What do I need to do now to play backups of my games (I have copied my games onto DVD’s – what do I have to do now to play them?)
I tried to install various boot loaders, I have backed up games but when I install the boot loader it goes to black and my controller turns off.
I want to buy animal crossing city folk but I noticed that it updates your wii in order to use the wii speak thingy… I was wondering if it affects the homebrew channel and the dvd playback.
