Wii Storage Solution – Wii Homebrew Problem

Finally, we have a Wii storage solution and it comes, as many of us expected it would, in the shape of a SD Card Channel. The problem is that this update, as ussual, includes some major problems for those of us who want to Homebrew.
As of the time of writing for this article it looks like the biggest problems that Wii 4.0 causes Homebrew is that the Twilight Hack no longer works, which means that those who update to 4.0 before they add the Homebrew Channel may not be able to add it all, at least not until and new work around is discovered. The other major problem that is being reported is that the update to Wii System 4.0 no longer allows new Homebrew apps to be installed, effectively neutralizing the Homebrew Browser.

Tempted?
We are simply suggesting that if you want to continue playing homebrew on your Wii please wait until more information is available before updating to 4.0. We know that the ability to play games from the SD card and not having to delete and reinstall all the time is a real temptation but Homebrew is awesome and it is worth waiting for. The homebrew community will be working on this so don’t worry.

Story Updates:
As this situation is updated over the next few days and weeks updates will be posted here.
